June 22 Uploaded... finallyRemixed all the songs recorded so far and have uploaded them to the Skydrive folder on the right side of this page in 192 Kbps wma format (windows media audio). It's a public folder and can be accessed by anyone. I think the mixes are a lot better; they do tranlate better on different setups (pc speakers, monitors, car/truck audio, headphones, etc). If you take the time to listen, please leave me a note because I really want to get better at the process of recording and mixing.

The songs at MySpace and GarageBand are uploaded at 320 Kbps and the ones at Soundclick and SellaBand are 128 Kbps. Soundclick and GarageBand steam both lo-fi and hi-fi versions.
Thanks... June 15 Not very bright am I....So I use a Roland VS-2400 CD to record my tracks. Well, I made a project cd and and imported the tracks into Cockos Reaper using VSRipper tool and I didn't realize that each track was stereo with all the sound on one side and no sound on the other. So when I was panning I guess I was really just adjusting the relative volumes for each track in relation to the other tracks? And basically just thinning the sound of each instrument in relation to the others? I dunno. Like I said... not very bright. Needless to say, I pulled all the songs off the SkyDrive and MySpace page. I'll keep working on it. June 12 It's working nowI got the MySpace music page working when I got home. Recognized a few names when I went to invite. Waiting for critiques from VSPlanet and Recording.org to start rolling in any minute now. Any minute now. Any minute now.... LOL

Doesn't seem nearly as customizable (or maybe I didn't like their themes and all the ads). Just my luck that there is something (maybe some maintenance?) that seems to be keeping me from uploading any music or changing any preferences...it let me sign up okay though.
Timing is everything and I seem to have none when it comes to just posting a few songs and getting some critiques on how well they are mixed... I had to convert the music to mp3's for MySpace and it seems that every time I do a conversion I lose more bass on the songs. They were originally mixed "bass lite" so I remixed and I thought they were pretty heavy, but when I converted them the first time (to wma's for this site) I noticed I had lost something in the bass dept. Noticed it again earlier when I converted the wav's to mp3's. Well, I'll work it out I guess.
Hopefully, they'll get it sorted before bedtime. Otherwise, it will have to wait and tomorrow promises to be a busy day, so I probably won't have the time to work on it.
Meanwhile, I wish this site worked better. I would like to publish songs straight to the page, instead of through a separate folder. The modules here are pretty sweet. I like being able to link other sites RSS feeds. I wish more sites had them set up. Then I wouldn't need tabbed browsing. LOL Maybe they could have a module dedicated to uploaded songs. That would be something cool. June 11 Pics and MusicIf you click on a pic on the right it will enlarge it and open an album so you can choose which to view.
The music is a little more involved... you have to open the skydrive folder, then choose a song. Then you have to double click the song and choose to open it... Maybe MySpace is easier! Resurrected the name "Desprit Measurz"Sorry guys, I needed a name and I was too lazy to think of something original so I brought back the old band name.
Just started this so I could post some music without using My Space or something similar... let's see how it goes. The music is on the right under the public folder named "Desprit Measurz Music". I know I still can't sing and I'm real rusty playing but I really want to get better with all this recording equipment that I invested so much in and there's no one else here, so check the mix and let me know if I'm improving in that area.
There are some RSS feeds to some music forums and there's also a guestbook around here somewhere if you're interested. In the meantime, I'll blog some stuff about music, bikes, friends and the kids (there's recent pictures... also on the right). Thanks.
